Windows Mobile frustrations

I was going to blog tonight about either ‘Shutter Island’ or the video game I had just finished, ‘Splinter Cell Conviction’.  However, since last night I discovered it’s been a year since I backed up my smartphone, I figured I would get that out of the way.  As soon as I hooked up the phone, I saw it couldn’t automatically find the device driver.  That was the point at which I should have realized things might go bad, very very bad.  Once I got my computer to recognize the phone, and set up a partnership, or so I thought, I figured I was all set to kick off ActiveSync and let it do it’s thing.  It started backing up items, or so it seemed, until it got about 80% of the way done, where it remained.  Since there didn’t seem to be any other available option, I just unplugged the phone, so I could try again.  Big mistake, big big mistake.  While most of the items were still on the phone, I saw that my previous 2 Outlook email accounts weren’t there, which clued me in to see what else was missing.  All in all, it only retained 5 phone number /email address contacts, out of over 100.  So, I am going to be spending the next week sending out random emails, asking for you contact info again (if I had it before).
